Mountain View, Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The price of the hugely awaited Google’s Nexus One phone is $529, which is for the unlocked version. This unlocked phone can then be used with any telecom carrier. However with a contract with the T-mobile the phone is then worth just $179. The prices seem to be at par with the iPhone and with the other smart-phones as well.
Google also plans to offer more Android-based devices to its online store in the future, for other carriers like Verizon Wireless (in the U.S.) and Vodafone (in Europe). The Nexus One will be available on both carriers in Spring 2010.
HTC CEO Peter Chou was also present in the event and he also spoke at the event and showcased its features. He said that the Nexus One features a strong industrial design, its uses a 1 GHz Qualcomm (QCOM) Snapdragon processor. The phone has 3.75 OLED display, which offers a rich display. The processor allows a really fast experience. There’s a trackball for navigation, but also serves as notification tool, with LED light under the trackball. It also includes the compass, GPS, accelerometer, also light and proximity sensors. Proximity sensor prevents accidental touches of the keyboard when held up to your ear.
