Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The excitement around Google’s much awaited Android based handset Nexus One has reached a crescendo. The much touted device can give the Apple iPhone a run for its money according to the industry experts. However, it seems that the Nexus One will have to face a number of problems before it can grab a significant part of the market share. Just a day after Google began selling the phone online the support forum started getting filled with queries and complaints at an unprecedented rate.
However, the queries and grievances are not on technical problems in the majority of cases. It appears that the upgrade policy of T-Mobile has baffled a lot of customers. As per the policy the existing customers of T-Mobile will find it a daunting task to buy the phone at the subsidized rate of $179. Though Google is not responsible for the carrier issues it needs to sit up and improve its customer service if it wants to grab a share of the smart phone market. Depending on support forums, emails and online means would not suffice and the Internet search giant should understand that.
The customer policy for a software application and a feature packed gadget needs to be different. The mass hype around the Google phone is huge and Google must live up to the expectation. The iPhone has a massive user base and Nexus One needs more than just tech specs to woo away the iPhone users. However, this is the initial stage and Google is not likely to let its much cherished smart phone vanquish for lack of customer support so easily.
