Feb 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Not a week has passed yet that Google has provided its customers with a new social networking site called”Buzz”, that it has faced hoards of negative responses from its service holders. The service which has been introduced by Google to compete with the growing popularity of Twitter and Facebook has been criticized and put down by its users who have found their personal information exposed on the web for people to view. It is being alleged that the company did not take enough care to secure its service holder’s privacy which has led many service holders to say a quit.
Controversies are raging high as Google is automatically or by default creating a circle of users which he thinks can interact and follow each other. Many users feel that Google has been extra wise in deciding and choosing people to interact with for a person without his/her prior permission. The Privacy setting of this application is hard to find out and put to use. The service has been provided to those holding a Gmail account and also to those who are creating a new Gmail account. By this service people can connect and follow those who they know on Gmail.
Google has started apologizing for the inconvenience that the service holders are facing. Todd Jackson who is the product manager of both Gmail and Buzz has said that the company has started to improve the buzz system based on the feed backs it has received. It will also launch a revised start up process soon where Gmail account holder will get the opportunity to totally opt out of the buzz if they want along with much more privacy settings to make it more user friendly.
