Sep 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Google often makes news for altering its logo which is usually known as Google Doodle. Today the users who open the Google home page in their machines get greeted with the Bucky Ball. Google has selected this image as its doodle to mark the 25th anniversary of the buckyball. The middle O in the word Google in its home page has been replaced by the rotating buckyballs. The funny thing is that the logo can be moved in any direction with the mouse. As a matter of fact the Buckyball logo was discovered by some scientists in Rice University and it got its name from Richard Buckminster Fuller a famous architect.
Buckyball is the informal name for sphere-shaped fullerene and the full form is spelt as buckminsterfullerene. These are various patterns of buckyballs. The special shaped molecule that was made of carbon was found in 1985. The structure is generally not seen in nature and found in soot. In some other occasions Google has used various other types of static and dynamic images as Doodle for celebrating anniversary or birthdays of well known personalities. Earlier this year Google used an animated Pacman game logo to mark the 30th anniversary of the game.
The new doodle made by Google has made the viewers and users curious who want to find out the details about buckyball. The doodle does look nice and since it is animated the viewers are finding it interesting. As usual Google is not going to use this doodle for long and it may be withdrawn from its home page in a day.
