The interactive homepage of the web search giant makes use of latest technologies to display scattering bouncing balls controlled by mouse movement. The new logo became the talking point for many users including the tech sites. However, the new animated logo was available for the users of the UK and Germany while the Australian users missed it. However some of the geek and tech savvy users have pointed out that the new animated logo does consume a lot of RAM and CPU resources. The same was the case with the earlier Buckyball doodles that was released a few days back.

When the logo moves it takes up over 40% of the CPU in a system running IE8 and Windows XP. However, in Google chrome the CPU consumption goes down to only 25 percent. The Firefox users have it worse with 50 percent of CPU utilization. It has been reported that it is more memory consuming than Adobe’s Flash video player. The new HTML 5 standard seems to be unsuitable for older machines as is evident from the new Google logo. The Google logo also appears differently in different web browsers as it has been reported.

Reports are doing the rounds in the web that Google is revamping its search engine for giving the users a faster and more efficient web experience. The reaction of the avid Google users on the new doodle is mixed.
