google-suedAug 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The ongoing tussle between two of the giants in Silicon Valley has created a storm in the tech industry and the experts are worried of the outcome. Google has been sued by Database technology behemoth Oracle for violating its Java patent rights. Oracle has lashed out at the internet search giant for using Java in its popular Android open source operating system and it says that by doing so Google has breached the Java patent rights. Oracle lawsuit that has made headlines says that Google has violated the patent rights several times and knowingly.

Google is busy defending itself and it has vehemently denied the allegation. The company has also said that it does not use Java in Android OS. While Google and Oracle are engaged in this legal tussle Microsoft is keenly watching the developments. If Google has to stop using Android owing to the lawsuit Microsoft is the company that will be benefited apart from Apple. Android is being used in the majority of Smartphones and Microsoft has lost its market share. The popularity of its Windows Mobile OS has diminished drastically and the Smartphone users have warmed up to Android in massive way.

The lawsuit will keep Google busy for some time even if it may not stall android’s use in phones. Meanwhile Microsoft will get plenty of time to develop its much touted Windows 7 Mobile OS from the scratch. The lawsuit however has appealed dubious to many industry veterans since both java and Android are basically open-source platforms. Google also does not charge any company for using Android OS.
