Oct. 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As expected for a long time by the netizens, Google has at last, launched its music search service known as ‘OneBox‘, which helps the users listen to the songs from the search results itself and later buy them. The service is however, available only in US as of now and the UK citizens will have to wait.
Google partnered with MySpace’s iLike and LaLa, so that the people will have better access to search for songs online and find them, sample them easily and even buy them. The whole process has made music search very easy for the people out there. Google said that they were very excited, and that the search will allow the users to play the song to verify whether it was the song they were searching for or not. Even the Apple based iTunes does not give us access to the whole song, which apparently ‘One box’ will. The users can search the song, by giving in the artist’s name, song title, album or the lyrics. However, some song may not have full access but will always have a minimum of a 30 second playback.
The streaming and search service has been rolled out in US since Wednesday. The service will have a page where, buttons will be present for the searches made. When play is pressed, iLike or LaLa pop-up appears, letting us hear the whole song or sometimes a part of it. There are additional buttons to buy it or get more information on it. The option to acquire info from iMeem, Rhapsody etc is also present.
