Google Gives Gmail A Nice Makeover

112543_matterAug 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Just on the heels of the new yahoo mail’s interface for iPad making its presence felt, Google has revamped the Gmail interface for the internet tablet. The Gmail interface for iPad has been tweaked for the convenience of the users. The company said in a statement that the new stacked card interface is meant for ease of use. It will make message management a hassle free affair for all. The Gmail Team also admitted that the earlier interface for iPad was not very user friendly. However the revamped interface that boasts of CSS3 transitions is a breeze to use according to the team.

The new Gmail interface for iPad looks similar to Apple’s mail interface. The users can also customize the interface in Apple’s safari browser. In another significant development Google updated the contacts interface in Gmail for the general web users. The users will benefit from improved sorting feature, labels as well as keyboard shortcuts. The new interface definitely looks less cluttered and the avid Gmail users will adjust to it without much hassle as it is being expected. Gmail has always been popular with the users owing to its light footprint and efficient management features. The new features give it an edge.

Google first offered the iOS compatible version of Gmail in 2009. The new iPad Gmail interface presently supports only US English. Google has used HTML 5 to revamp the Gmail interface for iPad it has said. Those who have tried out the new interface have said that the new interface blends seamlessly with the default interface of Safari, the browser used iPad.
