California, Mar 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anything that internet search giant Google does becomes a headline. It unveiled the much awaited Google Apps Marketplace recently. It will benefit at least 25 million users who make use of the various Google apps. It will also be helpful for the software developers who want to develop applications for the Google app users. The App store will make things easier for the companies that prepare apps for Google users. It will offer a platform and central management console for the apps. The developers using the Apps marketplace need not bother about the security of their data.
By the middle of this year Google will also come up with billing aimed at the developers. They will be able to make use of the Google billing APIs. The much hyped Google Apps Marketplace can be conceived as a cloud computing channel. Google will charge 20 percent of application sales. The idea of selling enterprises business applications that merge well with existing Google apps is a clever and well timed move as more and more companies are suing Google apps for efficient communication and data management. This move taken by Google may give the existing and popular cloud application stores a run for their money.
The Google online applications have already become quite popular and they have prompted its arch rival Microsoft to come up with its own version of online office suites. Cloud computing has started to catch on among business users though mass adoption still remains a concept. The business users who prefer cloud based storage over on-site server solutions will appreciate this move.
