Gmail Buzz, Google’s New Social Networking Weapon Unveiled

gmailFeb 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Google seems to be keen to develop an ecosystem of its applications following in the heels of Apple and that explains why it is trying to diversify into various areas of Internet operations of late. The internet search giant now has a plethora of online applications that has become really popular with millions of web users. On Tuesday, Google launched a new social networking tool named Buzz, which is meant to compete with other popular social networking applications. The best thing is that Google has integrated the applications within the Gmail interface to make things easier for the users. The Google Buzz can be accessed from android based smart phones as well.

Google Buzz can be used by the Gmail users to share videos, images and even status updates with others. Though the industry experts remain skeptical of its success, Google Buzz is likely to get a huge fan following. This is owing to the fact that millions of people already own Gmail accounts. The 40 people, a user chats and mails most frequently, will automatically get added to the Buzz friend list. Google has tried to keep this application as user friendly as possible. The Flcikr and Picasa users will like the fact that images and videos from these sites will be seen as thumbnails in the Buzz interface. YouTube videos can be played easily within its interface.

Google Buzz also offers partial integration with Twitter. The users have been given the option of keeping their updates private and public and this is likely to be appreciated.
