Galaxy TabOct 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After a long wait Verizon has unveiled the pricing for the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab the so called challenger to Apple iPad. The base price starts from $600 and it could be for the 16GB model. This may make things a bit hard for Samsung as the most affordable model of the iPad costs only $500. However, that is the price for the WiFi only model. The devices both come with near identical data plans.

Those who want the bigger screen would stick to the Apple device for sure. The screen size of the Apple iPad is close to 10 inches which honestly speaking is god for web browsing and e book reading. The galaxy tab has a smaller screen and it may not be adequate for some users. However, the galaxy Tab scores a few more brownie points since it has two cameras that the iPad lacks and it also comes with more memory. The Galaxy Tab runs the android 2.2 and a buzz is doing the round that the device will be upgraded to version 3.0 this year end.

The iPad is supposed to get the iOS 4.2 update therefore it becomes very hard to say which will win the battle. The Galaxy Tab however is still cheaper than the 3G enabled version of the 16 GB iPad. The iOS is known for its strength but then the Android is just getting better with each release. A few days back Steve Jobs lashed out at iPad rivals saying that the smaller screen size will be their nemesis. The Galaxy Tab is the device to see whether the prediction as right or not.
