Jan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The sole sex-offender website that has ever made it to the Oprah show is ‘familywatchdog.org’. The website, though quite old now, has become one of the most searched item recently, courtesy of Oprah’s fans and viewers. More information about the site has been included here.
Parents are the one who can get the most out of the site maintained by the National Sex Offenders Registry and contains the records and information about a number of sex offenders. The website, www.familywatchdog.us’ helps people to access the special Oprah feature, which ultimately helps in tracking the locations of people with a history of sex offenses in a given region. The site was formed after nine year old Jessica Lunsford was abducted and murdered. The site’s former was Mr Roddel who was majorly concerned about his own family’s safety. It all started when he used his IT knowledge to map all the sex offenders in his state. Slowly, the list of states grew and today the registry offers information about all the 50 states.
With the help of the free services provided by the site anyone could obtain the names of all the sex offenders that inhabit one’s neighborhood and the exact place where they reside. However, if you decide to pay ten bucks, and fill out a form, then the company gives an even elaborate report containing information about the convicts.
However, the site rules are very strict against the people who use the information for any kind of illegal activity like threatening or harming people. Any kind of misuse of the information may trigger lawsuits of federal and state in nature.
