Facebook’s Oldest User: Lillian Lowe?

Dec 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is no doubt that Facebook has various types of users ranging from the teenagers who learn computers from childhood to the elderly lot who are coming to terms with the changing facets of technology. This is no wonder considering the fact that there are over 550 million Facebook users and the number is still growing. There are a lot of elderly people who use Facebook but the oldest of them all is possibly Lillian Lowe of Britain. The elderly lady is 103 years old now and she uses apple iPad to log in to her Facebook profile. The lady keeps in touch with her 13 great-grandchildren and 7 grand children by means of the popular social networking site as has been reported by a leading UK based daily. Not everyone gets the opportunity of interacting with their grandmother online, that too via social networking sites.
The lady also likes the fact that she is able to use technology at this age to keep in touch with her near and dear ones. The centenarian said “It’s a wonderful way of finding out about things. I recommend it for any grandparents to keep in touch with family”. She used to be a businesswoman and ex hotelier. The elderly lady has 34 friends on Facebook. It was her grandson Steve who introduced her to Facebook.
Bradford’s Ivy Bean who passed out in July this year at 104 was the previous senior most Facebook user. Facebook however is not sure if she is the oldest user. A spokesperson said it needs to be confirmed.
