Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to rumor which were posted on PCWorld, Facebook fans could be getting a new email service through the social networking site as soon as Monday. Of course, privacy advocates are already cringing at the thought of millions of Facebook users with a “@facebook.com” email address.
This is because even more data would be in the hands of the world’s largest social network, which has already been proven, time and again, to have serious issues with keeping people’s private stuff…private.
The email service, which has not been verified by Facebook, would be far more than just an updated version of the inbox feature which they now have. According to TechCrunch, it would be a true Webmail client, and would give other mail services like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail a run for their money. It is said to be code-named “Project Titan” and is expected to be unearthed at a special Facebook press event which is being given in San Fransisco at the Web 2.0 Summit.
