Facebook users now bear the brunt of the ‘clickjacking worm’
June 1st, 2010 - 11:10 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Jun 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Now Facebook users are facing the brunt of the ‘clickjacking worm’. This worm is spreading through the ‘Like’ feature on Facebook. Already there are reports that hundreds of thousands of users of the popular social networking site have been hit by the worm. The affected users then get the following messages on their status bar - “LOL This girl gets OWNED after a POLICE OFFICER reads her STATUS MESSAGE,” “This man takes a picture of himself EVERYDAY for 8 YEARS!!,” “The Prom Dress That Got This Girl Suspended From School” and “This Girl Has An Interesting Way Of Eating A Banana Check It Out!”
Then when the innocent Facebook user clicks on the text that he wants to ‘Like’ then the user is redirected to another web-page, on which the following words are there – ‘Click here to continue’. And then if the user is still ignorant enough to understand that he is being taken for a ride, and if he clicks on that page, then the same message is then published in his Facebook page too.
And in a short while, the worm has experienced success like anything and has gone viral too. Experts say that this worm is very much like the Fbhole worm, that had struck the users of Facebook around 10 days ago.
