July 25th, 2012 - 9:23 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, July 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Social networking site Facebook is hiring engineers for its new office which would be located in London. This would be Facebook’s first engineering office, which would be located outside US.
Facebook software engineer Philip Su is very happy that the social networking site has chosen London as the location for the new office. Su said that, “It’s a global hub, and it has a vibrant local start-up community with lots of great technical talent. Our team in London will start small, focusing on building a core of great engineers, and then grow over time and eventually focus on building products in key areas like mobile and platform.”
He also added that Facebook’s engineers in London would work in tandem with their colleagues in Menlo Park, New York and Seattle.
London seems to be the new hub for work as Amazon has also announced a new developmental center there. Amazon’s new office would be located near the Barbican, whereas Facebook is planning to open its new office in the Convent Garden.
Besides new offices, London is also in the news for hosting the Olympics.
