Sep 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is some surprise in store for the geeks and technology addicts. Apple is a bigger brand name which has been around compared to Facebook, yet Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO, has beaten Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO in terms of wealth. The amazing information has been presented by no other than the Forbes magazine. The yearly list of Forbes that ranks the 400 richest Americans, has placed Marc Zuckerberg at number 35 while Steve Jobs the Apple CEO is placed at rank 42! The 26 year old Harvard dropout has indeed zoomed past the CEO of a brand that is considered as a technology behemoth in the USA.
The handsome CEO of Facebook who still has the boy next door appeal has managed to triple his earning in just one year and thus has overtaken the CEO of Apple. He is now richer than Rupert Murdoch as well. Even though he is still not in the top 20 in the Forbes list there is no denying the fact that his rise is unprecedented and in near future he may get into the top 20 league. However, the wealthy geek is not mad after wealth as is evident from his decision to donate $100 million to the Newark urban schools.
However, his phenomenal rise has not been without his share of problems and controversies. The upcoming film on Facebook has also hit at his reputation. Despite the accusations and controversies surrounding him, no one can deny that he is a successful entrepreneur who is not afraid of taking risks in his career. Facebook has zoomed past rival social networking sites very fast and its user base continues to grow worldwide.
