Sep 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new email virus is affecting millions of users worldwide as leading anti virus firms have reported. The email is using the age old trick of offering free access to pornography. Needless to say a lot of users can not resist the temptation of seeing porn online and hence the virus has affected thousands of users and even corporate entities. The email comes with a subject line ‘Here You have’. It has a link that seems to be linked with a PDF file. However, there lies the catch and whoever clicks on the link invites the doom for his system. It activates the malware which then tries to take control of his PC. This happens so fast that the user can not take any action before his system becomes compromised.
The malware after getting activated attacks the outlook mail inbox of the user and sends a copy to the people found in his address book. It also tries to delete the security software in the system to take total control of the compromised system. The shocking thing is that the email worm has affected the PCs in companies like Procter & Gamble, Disney, Wells Fargo and AIG and their employees are finding it hard to aces their inbox.
The website responsible for spreading this deadly worm has been traced and shut down but eliminating the virus will take some more time as the security software makers have said. The security farms have also said that the worm has several variants and a patch to tackle it will be made available shortly.
