At CES 2011 Motorola’s CEO for the Mobility division, Sanjay K Jha unveiled the company’s first LTE 4G phone that will run on Verizon network. The LTE 4G network of Verizon is now available in about 39 cities and it will be rolled out in more areas in 2011 as the company has said. The handset which was earlier code named as Etna will be released as Motorola Droid Bionic. As usual with the Droid series smart phones, it will be running Android OS. The model will give the recently announced LG Optimus 2x tough competition as it also comes with a beefy dual core CPU and a gorgeous looking 4.3 inch HD display.

The handset will be capable of dealing with 1080p HD content easily and Verizon promises downloads speeds up to 12 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5 mbps on its LTE network. The preview of the device at CES stunned the viewers and the HD video and games looked great on its screen. The phone also supports Skype video calling and works smoothly on WiFi. The Bionic also comes with a HDMI out port which allows the users to view contents on a HDTV without plugging it in a laptop or PC first. The web browsing experience would be PC like on this phone since it supports HTML 5 and Flash.

At the back of the Droid Bionic there is 8 MP camera. Verizon will sip it in 2011’s second quarter. It has not divulged the pricing yet.
