On the contrary, over the last two decades technology has changed the way education is imparted. Of course the advent of Internet and evolution in home computing has made this possible. The CD and DVD Roms that contain the contents of conventional books and offer audio visual modes for learning are used widely all over the world. However, the latest trend is that digital text book or e readers are slowly replacing the conventional textbooks. E books are also gaining popularity as they are much more flexible and can be taken anywhere without the need to carry heavy books physically. This is a great benefit as one can carry more data with him without getting tired.

The advantage with thee digital books are that they can be updated as and when required which is not possible with regular books. Even the Internet tablets like iPad can come in handy for learning things. ipad and iPhone come with a number of apps that make learning a hassle free and fun affair. It has been observed that kids learn better using interactive methods compared to the conventional books. The interactive educational apps are liked by the toddlers more than others as studies have shown.

A number of schools are also considering changing the way to teach the students. While there are detractors for the digital way of learning there is no denying that it is more flexible and intuitive. In near future the books may be replaced with e books and tablets will replace bulky textbooks.
