ipad-appstore Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the world constantly moving on to the tech world, the need to change many things has come up.

Book companies and publishers are turning most of the available books in to electronic ones. New books are also being released in digital forms. This has opened a great potential for e-book readers and Apple’s iPad does just that. Amazon’s Kindle has started the trendsetting path of the e-readers and now Apple’s iPad is helping it in that endeavor.

The company’s iPad is mostly used to read electronic books provided by book publishers thus opening a big market for Apple in the educational sector. Schools are now embracing this new technology because of the convenience it offers. Students alike also prefer the e-books, considering the obvious advantage it offers over conventional books.

With competition coming from Google, HP and Amazon, Apple managed to sell about 3 million iPads within the first three months of the product’s launch.

The potential is set to grow much bigger because three colleges including Illinois Institute of Technology will offer fresh students a free copy of iPad to aid in their studies.

Major book textbook publishers like McGraw-Hill Education are all providing e-books.
