dell tablet Sep 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In what can best be described as healthy competition between computer giants Della and Apple, the gadget freaks are sure to rejoice as Dell gave a sneak peek of the 7 inch Android powered tablet PC. The new gadget promises to be a pint sized dynamite as it packs all the features of a tablet and a smartphone and has the looks of the future as well.

On Wednesday Dell showcased the prototype of the 7 inch tablet to the attendees of a tech convention in San Francisco. The Dell CEO, Michael Dell, said that the company is working on the prototype but did not reveal much further details. Dell was quick to respond to Apple’s iPad with the 5 inch Dell Streak but the latest model promises to take the competition up one notch. Though it is unlikely that Apple’s success with the iPad is repeated, there are a number of companies, that include HP and Asus, which have released similar gadgets. Another recent rival to the iPad came in the form of BlackPad from Blackberry which has also become the must haves for most businessmen and gadget freaks. Dell has also announced new applications that includes e-medical bills for the Streak recently.

Earlier this year Dell launched a 5 inch tablet that has a 5 megapixel camera and a dual LED Flash. There is also an inbuilt Wi-Fi system and 3G connectivity. With extendable memory of upto 32 GB, the small tablet has almost every feature that the Apple sensation has. The iPad, however, continues to ride the wave of success in the gadget world after selling a whopping 3.3 million units in the first quarter of its launch.
