Dell showcases 7-inch Tablet Computer at the Oracle Open World Conference

Sep 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) At the Oracle Open World conference on Wednesday in San Francisco Dell showcased a 7-inch tablet computer. This tablet was introduced by Dell Inc Chief Executive Michael Dell on stage. The tablet would run on Google’s Android software. But apart from this, Dell didn’t disclose anything regarding this new invention.
Earlier the Dell Company launched its 5-inch tablet, Streak, which is currently available through Dell’s online store. But next month people can buy this from Best Buy stores as well. Dell said after the launch of the tablet company’s revenues has been increased about 20 percent over the two quarters. And they are sure to hit the target again.
According to Wall Street Dell is expected to post $62.4 billion revenues in the current fiscal year. Dell executives said that previously they planned to launch the much bigger version of the tablet.
Dell has been making PC from many years and ranks at second position in PC making world. Dell is expected to expand its product portfolio. Dell will be sending the standard computer tablets and will give good competition to Apple’s iPad.
As per BMO Capital Markets reports the tablet is expected to raise the sales by 40 million units by 2011.
