August 3, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): We have heard of all kinds of alliances so far but the impending alliance between the veteran hackers from the United States of America and their Chinese counterparts have raised many eyebrows around the world. The cyber team of Vigilant from the US has actually recruited hackers at the DefCon, Las Vegas on Sunday. Most people hope to get an insight into the methods adopted by them.

The hackers are known to crack codes on almost every computer aided technology. From smartphones, to software and web browsers they are said to be able to affect the running of a power plant as well. That is exactly what was depicted in ‘Die Hard 4’. However, most of the hackers seem to have a concrete objective. They simply want to show the world how vulnerable the systems that we take for granted is.

The scenario was described in an article published in the Economic Times. They have also stated that the general public has become wise now. The hackers, with their wide understanding of the technologies can perhaps now help in creating more secure web browsers and smart phones. These are the two things that are most extensively used by the citizens of today.

The older picture of extremely intelligent persons sitting cooped up in the basement of an apartment trying to hack into security systems has changed now. A public conference called at Las Vegas and the cyber team of hackers presenting an united front is now being envisaged as a positive step towards the future.

The US cyber team has promised to fight the terrorists, drug cartels as well as mobsters on the Internet. The team is also said to include the technology chiefs of various high profile companies along with US cyber spies. The chief of Vigilant, Uber said that they have taken an oath to defend the constitution of the United States.
