Shanghai, Feb 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a recent development that has got the IT industry sensitized, China has claimed to close what it thinks is the biggest academy for teaching the tricks of hacking. The China based hacking training institute has been closed down and three members belonging to this organization has been arrested. The name of the website that promised to make the students expert in the art of hacking is named Black Hawk Safety Net. It reportedly has 12,000 members. The website taught its members to download malicious files and gain access to private networks illegally. A few weeks back, hacking attempts originating from China made headlines as Searching giant Google accused Chinese hackers of breaching into the users domains- resulting in intellectual property loss.
Google even threatened to shut down its operations in China over the incident and it created turmoil in the US-Chinese international relations as well. However, what has made many people skeptic and curious is the fact that the network was tracked down and closed in November but the report was published very recently. The institute made tall claims and used alluring ads to woo the aspiring hackers. Many people got hooked to its advertisement. It gathered over $1 million tuition fee from its 12,000 members. Another 1,70,000 people used to take online lessons from it as the police have found out.
The development may make some people think that the government of China is taking cyber crimes seriously after the fiasco with Google. However, tech experts feel that the Chinese Internet security is far from matured and the government needs strict laws to prevent such crimes.
