Nov 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Call of Duty is a gaming franchisee that does not need an introduction by any means to the veteran gamers. The previous versions of the games in the franchisee were developed by Treyarch and Infinity Ward though the latter was credited with the success and popularity of the games so far. However, with the release of the latest Call Of Duty: Black Ops. The days of Treyarch’s playing second fiddle to Infinity Ward are over. The early reviews of the newly released game are positive with those who have tried the game saying that the game-play experience is awesome. The credit goes to the new World At War engine which has surpassed the previous generation game engines used in the franchisee.
Call of Duty: Black Ops has a liberal dose of violence but it is not necessarily grotesque. The beginning of the game is quite engrossing which shows the player as a soldier strapped to a chair in a torture shell. The plot is unveiled in flashback mode and the action of the game moves across different countries including Cuba, Vietnam and U.S.S.R. There is a nice blend of suspense and intrigue in the plot of the game which keep the player hooked to his chair till he cruises through the last chapter. The set pieces are awesome true to the tradition of COD. The level design also is at par with the plot. The single player mode is rather short and in easiest mode the entire game can be completed within 7 or 8 hours.
However, the real thrill of the game lies in the multi player mode, which is quite immersible to say the least. It also offers plenty of customization options to the players. The weapon set is quite exhaustive and some of them can be used in multiple ways as well.
