The blackberry Torch has a slide out QWERTY keypad that resembles Palm Pre and the touch screen size is above 3 inch as it seems from the images. The keypad resembles that of the Bold 9700 model. Therefore the messaging freaks should not have a trouble. The browser in the phone is powered by the Webkit engine. It is indeed a much needed improvement.
The new OS used in the phone is said to be speedy and would handle multi tasking with ease. The phone so powered by a CPU running at 624 MHz. While it may not be as fast as the Snapdragon CPU used in some smart phones that run at 1 GHz speed, it is still capable of dealing with multimedia well. The Touchscreen used in the phone is capacitive type which will be good for the users. The phone has received rave reviews from industry pundits.
