San Francisco, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Apple is all set to have a special event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. This is an invitation only event, and Apple said that it would introduce its latest creation at this event. There are mounting speculations that Apple will introduce its Tablet at this event. The tablet is said to be made by Innolux, which is a subsidiary of Foxconn.

According to engadget.com, the Apple’s tablet will have a 10-inch touch screen, and it looks very much like an enlarged version of the iPhone, as it also has a home button at the base. It is also said to be have aluminum back like the Apple Macbooks. There are rumors that it is going to be priced at $800, when it is taken in a deal with Verizon, and bereft of it; it is priced at $1000. Even though the official launch is today – 27th January, it is expected to retail around March. And its name is a top –secret, but rumors suggest that the Apple people have codenamed it as ‘K48’. Other industry analysts think that it could be named as iPad or iSlate.

It is being launched to bridge the gap between the iPod Touch and the Apple MacBook. The tablet can easily store and play music, videos and even games. It is also being said as a replacement to Amazon’s Kindle as it can also facilitates reading books and/or magazines easily. And on top of this, it makes use of Apple’s iTunes, which have more than 2 million applications in their database, that cover many of the facets of our lives.

The special invitation to the event, did not proclaim what they would be showcasing, but it did say that it is the Apple’s ‘latest creations’. And if the tablet is showcased, then it would lay all the speculations about this eagerly awaited product to rest. It is also being said that Apple CEO Steve Jobs might address a press conference on 27th January 2010.
