Apple’s new app: iBook, iPad goes one up on Amazon’s Kindle

apple-iPad San Francisco, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Apple has launched the iPad at a special event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco today. It is totally packed with features, for music lovers, for reading enthusiasts, for artists and for the diehard gamers too. Apple has taken direct competition with Amazon’s Kindle, with its iPad. As they have developed a new app for the iPad and it is called iBook. This revolutionary app would let the bookworms buy the books online and read them in an user-friendly way too.

The iBook app is high on usability like all Apple products. According to Apple, iBook is sort of a button to a bookstore. It allows you to look around, search for, buy and then download e-books on the iPad. It is very easy to browse the Table of Contents, change the font or even the font size, plus the other usual suspects like turning the page to your convenience, etc. with all these packed features, Amazon’s Kindle is going to take a direct hit, as iPad promises a whole new experience in reading e-books.

The iPad is very thin, beautifully crafted and has a Home Button at the base, like the iPhone. The iPad is powered by Apple’s own chip, which is called the A4, and it is revolutionary to say the least. Besides this the iPad has 1GHZ, 16, 32 or 64 GB of flash storage. It also boasts of the very latest in the Wireless world with 802.11n, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. It is just 0.5 inches thin, and it weighs just 1.5 pounds. And it has a 9.7-inch IPS display.
