July 15, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): iPhone 4, the latest gizmo to have hit the market is not having a smooth run at all. Reception problems have been reported from a wide range of areas which gave rise to the speculation of the iPhone recall.

The design of its antenna which was considered to be of a cutting edge technology is beset with signaling problems. The spokesperson for Apple has reported that it will be holding a press conference tomorrow to discuss the problems and means of overcoming them. The representative, however, declined to comment on the speculations of recall.

Ed Snyder, an analyst stated that Apple is likely to fix the problem faced by thousands of iPhone owners. They may even think of offering some kind of compensation for the trouble undergone by them.

The Californian Company went aboard with its promotion which hailed the iPhone as the greatest technological tool in recent years. It was launched amidst huge fanfare, last year. The antenna was one of its much hyped features and the design caught the fancy of technology lovers worldwide. The stainless steel band enclosing the antenna was placed around the frame of the phone which also added to its visual appeal.

Although the iPhone proved to be popular with the sets flying off the counters rapidly, all around the world, the complaints started pouring in. Instances of not receiving proper signals or calls being dropped were reported from far and wide which increased suspicion about the antenna that was exposed to the human touch.

The problem assumed alarming proportions last Monday when the Consumer reports magazine refusing to recommend it. A total recall of the iPhone would involve huge expenses and Apple is likely to lose face if it does so. Moreover, the problem does not threaten the safety of human beings and occurs only in certain situations.

All the points are likely to get clarified at the Press conference which will be held at California Friday at 6 P.M. PST.
