Apple/AT&T iPhone Orders Stalled, Failure in Combined Systems?

iPhone 4 June 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Buyers of the iPhone, an Apple product sold in the United States by AT&T, are having serious issues getting their phone registered after purchase, with lines forming in stores while clerks attempt to get the orders through the combined AT&T and Apple systems.

Whether buyers try at the Apple Store on the web, or at the AT&T website, the result seems to be the same. Errors, messages stating that their order cannot be processed, and lots of frustration are all coming to the buyers of these latest iPhones. Several AT&T stores as well as Radio Shacks were having a difficult time processing the orders.

Much of the early blame is placed on AT&T, since the Apple site must interface with AT&T sites to check on accounts before they can process the order and upgrade pricing.

Computer systems at Apple or AT&T have had several problems meeting the demand for the iPhone every year since 2007, when the first one was released. Although the issues always eventually get worked out, it is a source of much aggravation for everyone involved.

Neither Apple, nor AT&T has made any comments on the issues as of yet. The iPhone 4 officially goes on sale on June 24, for a price of $199.
