Apple iPhone 5 Speculations Running Riot

Jan 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Even before Apple could launch the first CDMA version of iPhone on the network of Verizon the rumors of the next generation iPhone aka iPhone 5 have started doing rounds on the web. Predictions are running riots as to what changes Apple may incorporate in the next generation iPhone and when it will be launched. It is likely that Apple will dump the Cortex A8 CPU which has started showing its age. It may move to the more powerful Cortex A9 for iPhone 5 but it is not known whether it will go for a dual core CPU. Already some of the Android phones have started sporting Tegra dual core CPUs that offer blazing fast performance. The Motorola Atrix 4G and LG Optimus 2X are two such examples. However, increase in CPU cores translate in battery life reduction, heat dissipation as well as power consumption.
It could be possible that Apple is mulling a mid year launch date for the iPhone 5 in 2011. While Apple chose not to show the next iPhone prototype at CES 2011 which ended a few days back it is definitely not going to let the Android brigade steal its glory. However, Apple has a steep journey ahead if it has to live up to the expectation of the users. Touchscreen is now considered quite commonplace and display wise Samsung and Motorola have brought out phones that match iPhone’s retina display really well. Therefore Apple has to come up with something unique and unprecedented in display technology in the new iPhone.
The industry experts believe the iPhone 5 will offer improved camera and HD movie recording among other new features. It could come on both AT&T and Verizon.
