Apple iPad priced at $499

apple-iPad San Francisco, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Apple has launched the iPad with much fanfare at a special event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco today. It is totally packed with features, for music lovers, for reading enthusiasts, for artists and for the diehard gamers too. And since it is packed with features, so it was suspected to be high on the price as well. But it came as a huge surprise, when Steve Jobs announced that the basic iPad was priced at just $499. For this price, the iPad has Wi-Fi and a storage capacity of 16 GB. For the 32 GB version with Wi-Fi, the price is $599 and for the 64 32 GB version with Wi-Fi, the price is 699.

And there are other iPad’s too with 3G, however they cost a wee bit more on the pocket. The 16 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $629 and the 32 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $729 and the 64 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $829. Steve Jobs also announced that the shipping for the 3G models would start in around 3 months. Whereas the Wi-Fi models will be shipped worldwide in just 60 days.

The User Interface on the iPad is very intense, it seems quite familiar, but at the same time it seems much improved from the iPhone and the OS X. The iPad is very thin, beautifully crafted and has a Home Button at the base, like the iPhone. It has built-in slideshows, and the music effortlessly plays with the slides, and with the transitions as well. It is a good product to store photographs, and it has a photo scrubber bar at the bottom as well. It can also show the calendar and maps, and use the Internet to navigate to a place too. And with all these amazing features and the superb pricing, it seems like a must-have gadget.
