San Francisco, May 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The feud between Apple and Adobe over Flash continued with Adobe’s Chief Technical Officer (CTO) slamming Apple Owner and CEO Steve Jobs. Adobe’s CTO Kelvin Lynch has slammed Apple, saying that the company’s policy on Flash is anti Internet and anti competitive.

Lynch’s latest remarks is directed at Apple CEO - Steve Jobs, who had earlier commented that Adobe’s Flash program is buggy. Lynch said Jobs is not interested in applications, that can be deployed on all platforms.

He likened the situation to the railway designs in the 1800’s where each company made the railway in its own design. He said Apple was not ready for applications, that can be deployed on all platforms and he said that policy is against the spirit of the Internet. He said that, “It is totally counter to the web. We need to have freedom of transport, open access and letting people compete on the merits they have, not on the gauge of the rails.”

Mr. Lynch, who was addressing the conference on Web 2.0 in San Francisco, said Apple is trying to dictate their terms on the applications, that their users can use thereby killing all sorts of competition. The said competition should be based on merits and not on exclusivity.
