AOL Buys TechCrunch
September 29th, 2010 - 12:14 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a statement which was released by Tim Armstrong of AOL, it was revealed that AOL has bought ‘TechCrunch’. “I’m very pleased to announce that we have acquired TechCrunch. Details are in the press release below, and I’m sure founder Michael Arrington will have a few words to say as well. This is a great complement to our continued investment in world class content.” Armstrong stated.
He went on to say, “TechCrunch and its team will be an outstanding addition to the high-quality content on the AOL Technology Network, which is now a must-buy for advertisers seeking to associate their brands with leading technology content and its audience,”.
The announcement was first made on the TechCrunch site, by AOL CEO Tom Armstrong, and TechCrunch founder, Michael Arrington. TechCrunch will be joining AOL’s large number of content news blogs, alongside Engadget and Switched.
