blackberryDec 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 22nd December saw another tech-outage that hit the users of Blackberry across a wide scale. The outage reports are still being posted by the Twitter users, who complain that their BBM or Blackberry Message and internet is not working. Apparently the outage-reports started pouring in from Tuesday afternoon itself.

The major problem lies with BlackBerry Messenger, Web browser and also other applications ‘that use data connection to work’. This time however, the users have not complained of e-mail problems, which means that facility is working just fine. Also, the complains are routing only from the users of BlackBerry, which clearly means that other mobile carriers have not been hit in any way.

The same Twitter users also have news, that the outage has spread to half of the Blackberry users and that the provider has no clue how to repair it. However, sources claim that RIM (Research in Motion), which is the Blackberry’s maker and has claimed to cure the problem ‘within a couple of hours’, even though the reason for the outage is unknown as of yet. The RIM spokesperson has said that “technical teams” are continuously trying to locate the problem area, and that the service “will be restored ASAP”.

North American Blackberry users went through a similar outage on Dec. 8, when they were unable to access their e-mails. However, that disruption had reportedly, also hit other carriers such as Rogers. On 2008 February, the company went through an upgradation to a ‘wireless system’, which also caused a three hour long outage for millions of Blackberry users.
