Amazon.com Launches Movie Studio
November 18th, 2010 - 3:41 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonNov 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Amazon.com Inc has announced their move into the film production industry with a new film production web site that will allow film makers to submit their scripts and movies which could have possibilities of ending up in movie theaters.
Simply named ‘Amazon Studios’, the venture is partnered with Time Warner Inc’s ‘Warner Bros’ is making an offer of almost three million dollars for what they call “top submissions” of any test movies and scripts which are received by December 11 of 2011. The projects are planned to be developed as future movies.
Warner Bros will be given the first rights to produce any movies, but Amazon will be allowed to approach other movie studios with any project rejected by Warner. No one from Time Warner was available to comment on the story, from Yahoo News.
