Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble The unsung hero of Indian Cricket, Anil Kumble, made the country go crazy about him after the match against Pakistan in Ferozshah Kotla, New Delhi where he took 10 wickets in an innings. A gentleman by heart, Kumble always took every match with utmost sincerity and came for team’s rescue even in his hard times.

Despite often being criticized as a spinner who could never spin the ball, Kumble is the third highest wicket taker after Muttiah Muralitharan and retired Australian bowler Shane Warne. He played his first ODI against Sri Lanka in 1990 and later his debut Test against England in the same year.

He gracefully retired out of the game that he had served for over 18 years in 2008, and followers of the game will continue to miss such a bowling wizard. And Indian cricket will exemplify this hero as a perfectionist bowler to the next generation of cricketers.
