Yuvraj’s father acquitted in forgery case
April 16th, 2010 - 10:04 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, April 16 (IANS) A court here Friday acquitted former cricketer and Punjabi film actor Yograj Singh in a nearly 10-year-old forgery case.
According to police, Yograj, also the father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, was booked for cheating after police seized adulterated petrol from his petrol pump here in Sector 17 in 2000.
Police then raided a farmhouse in a village near Manimajra town and recovered 22 drums, each containing 200 liters of petrol.
Besides acquitting Yograj, Judicial Magistrate (Class I) Amandeep Kaur also acquitted Gurmeet Kaur, who was also booked by the police in the same case.
Last year, Yograj contested the Haryana assembly elections from Panchkula in Haryana on Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) ticket but was defeated.
