New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Junior Australian Open champion Yuki Bhambri has been included in India’s tennis squad for the Davis Cup World Group qualifying away tie against South Africa Sep 18-20.
Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Rohan Bopanna and Somdev Devvarman are the other members of the team, it was announced by the selection committee of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Tuesday.
Former Davis Cupper S.P. Misra would be the non-playing captain while Nandan Bal has been named the coach for the tie.
India beat Chinese Taipei in the first round of Asia Oceania group-I in March and made it to the World Group qualifying stage after Australia refused to tour India for the second round tie due to security reasons.
If India beats South Africa, they will qualify for the world group after 11 years.
Steel Authority of India (SAIL) would be the official Team Sponsor for the tie in South Africa.
