Lahore, May 22 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to include Mohammad Yousuf in the national squad for the forthcoming Sri Lankan tour.

PCB chairman Ijaz Butt described Yousuf as a valuable player who was needed in the team.

“Yousuf has told us that he has resigned from the ICL and we have formed a committee to look into cases of the players who played in the ICL. Situation would become clear in a few days. There is no doubt that Yousuf is required in the Pakistan team,” The Nation quoted Butt, as saying.

Earlier, the PCB had asked the middle order batsman to table the ICL’s response over his decision to quit the rebel league.

Yousuf’s return to the team would certainly bolster its batting line-up for the forthcoming three Test match series against Sri Lanka.

The PCB is particularly worried about Sri Lanka’s world-class spin duo of Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis besides its more than decent pace attack.

Pakistan lacks bothdepth and experience in their batting order.Besides captain Younis Khan, and former captain Shoaib Malik, the line up is in experienced. (ANI)
