You’re gutless, says axed Chelsea star Ray Wilkins
April 8th, 2011 - 3:07 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr. 8 (ANI): Axed Chelsea No 2 Ray Wilkins branded the Blues ‘gutless’ after the 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League.
Wilkins has not criticized the team since his sacking last November but also blasted boss Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics following the quarter-final first-leg loss at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking on Al Jazeera Sport, The Sun quoted Wilkins, as saying: “Chelsea didn’t deserve anything. Despite the penalty appeal, the correct result was Manchester United won and they deserved it.”
He added: “Chelsea can’t be any worse in the return leg. They have to be better and they have to play with more life. There was no life. They were, and I hate to say it, gutless. I was very disappointed in them.” (ANI)
