Yatra.com kicks off maiden golf tourney

New Delhi, Oct 15 (IANS) Actor Dia Mirza felicitated the winners of the first invitational golf tournament organised by top travel portal Yatra.com at the picturesque DLF golf course in Gurgaon, near here, late Saturday.
The tournament, which extended late into the evening on the flood lights-lit course, saw the participation of several chief executives and corporate professionals to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship.
“Through our long-term undertaking to host this tournament, we seek not only to promote the game of golf but also to foster a spirit of happiness that arises for many from the sport,” said Pratik Mazumder, head of marketing and strategic relations with Yatra.com.
The Yatra Golf Tournament was divided into three contests - straightest drive at hole 5, closest to pin at hole 16, and longest drive at hole 18.
In addition, the gala evening witnessed 11 lucky draw prizes which ranged from a grand holiday package to Mauritius for a couple for six nights, to a stay at Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa package in Africa for two nights.
The winners included Upen Roop Rai of Times Internet, Praveen Biyani of Bhagat Aromatics and Dhruv Rathore of Hyatt.
