Islamabad, Sep.22 (ANI): Forgotten Pakistan opener Yasir Hameed is looking forward for the forthcoming Quaid e Azam Trophy, which he considers may help pave the way for his return into the national squad.

Hameed said he would give his best in the tournament in order to seal his place in the national team.

“I’m really looking forward to the Quaid e Azam Trophy competition which starts on 10th October,” said Hameed.

“The coming season is a very busy one for Pakistan, with lots of cricket to be played in UAE, New Zealand, Australia and England and I am very keen to regain my place in the Pakistan team,” he added.

Hameed told PakPassion.net that he would try his best to perform upto his potential in order to grab the attention of the selectors.

“My aim is to score lots of runs in the Quaid e Azam trophy and catch the eye of Iqbal Qasim and the other selectors. I hope that by scoring heavily in domestic cricket, the selectors will give me another opportunity to represent my country,” he said.

Hameed, who averages nearly 35 in tests and just under 37 in one day international cricket, last played for Pakistan during the 2007 India tour. (ANI)
