Yankees Parade Route 2009 New York, Nov 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) New York City will celebrate the Yankees’ 27th World Series title with a celebration parade on Friday. They are going to follow the traditional route, which is from Battery Park to City Hall along Broadway. Yankees old-timers Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera would know the parade route as well as the back of their hands.

The celebration parade will start at 11:00 am from the Canyon of Heroes till City Hotel. The Yankees successfully defeated Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 and won the celebrated World Series 2009, which they had also won in the past in the year 1998.

There will be a ceremony on City Hall Plaza at 1:00 p.m. Friday November 6,2009. To attend this ceremony the spectators need to possess tickets. And the tickets will be distributed through 311 or 212-NEW-YORK, Twitter and the official website of www.nyc.gov. The distribution of tickets starts on Thursday November 5 at 2:00 p.m. EST, according to official information from the New York City government.

According to the Associated Press, the newly elected Mayor Bloomberg will give the World Series 2009 holders the Yankees the keys to the city at the end, in a special ceremony. On the way there, the Yankees will be driven in convertibles, while the usual ticker tape mess is made, and the crowds and numerous fans will cheer them all, while becoming one with them in this hour of celebration.
