Xavier Nady May Become One Of The Chicago Cubs This Season

Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Major Baseball League outfielder, Xavier Nady, who is a free-agent at present has reportedly signed a deal with the Chicago Cubs. A recent report indicated that the officials of the Cubs is negotiating deal with the player for the coming season. It has been reported that both the sides have almost settled the deal and will confirm it once Xavier Nady passes the physical test that is mandatory for all players before joining a team.
Though the reports of Xavier Nady’s signing the deal with the Chicago Cubs has surfaced, the officials have declined to make any comment on this issue. The information of the agreement has been revealed by a close source, who knew about the deal. It has also been reported that the team has offered Xavier Nady a one year contract with the team. Reportedly, the base salary of the player would be around 3.3 million dollars, excluding the performance bonus that the team will offer him if he plays well in the season. If Xavier Nady’s performance becomes eligible for the bonus money then he can earn up to 5.35 million dollars, which is quite a lucrative deal for the player.
To learn more information on the deal, media representatives have tried to contact Xavier Nady and the officials of Chicago Cubs. However, none of them responded to the queries of the media and kept the proceedings of the deal a secret. Therefore, Chicago Cubs’ fans who are interested to know whether Xavier Nady would be a part of their team in the new season, will have to wait for the official confirmation.
