Finally, the Illinois crushed the Wildcats by a 47-28. Audience did not seemed to be bothered much about the west facing direction of the game which had been a problem to a great extent, as the two teams began to battle against each other.

For quite a long time, both the teams were seen failing to find a west end zone. Wildcats had already missed out the chance to get onto the west end zone, and so did the rival team. A huge crowd of around 41,058 fans had come to Wrigley Field to witness the match, who watched every move of their favorite team as they prayed for their victory. Mikel Leshoure was seen diving from one yard as he made his second touchdown. Later on, Illinois rushed for 519 yards. This has been the highest output to have come up ever since it had last happened in 1944. The Wildcats kept on missing defenses leading them to their disaster.

The whole situation was pretty confusing for those present over there to see it due to the change in field direction. To add more confusion to the already existing one, former Northwestern golfer Luke Donald was seen singing ”Take Me Out to the Ballgame” after the end of the first quarter. Eventually, the audience too started jingling to the tune. Experts have even gone to the extent of saying that the way everything happened in Saturday’s game was weird occurring in some feng-shui sort of way!
