World Cup football officially begins
June 11th, 2010 - 7:56 pm ICT by IANSJohannesburg, June 11 (DPA) The first football World Cup on African soil was kicked off Friday by a colourful African-themed ceremony.
The championship’s 19th edition since 1930 started two hours before hosts South Africa and Mexico were to face off in the opening game at Johannesburg’s Soccer City stadium.
