‘Wimbledon has brought the best out in me’: Murray
June 28th, 2010 - 5:35 pm ICT by ANILondon, June 28(ANI): British tennis star Andy Murray has admitted that he has been playing ‘perfect’ tennis after storming into Wimbledon’s Round of 16.
Murray, who beat Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-1 6-4 6-4 in under two hours on Saturday, is yet to lose a set and has dropped his serve just once.
“Maybe it’s Wimbledon that has brought the best out in me. I needed something really to focus on - and winning this tournament was my goal,” The Sun quoted Murray, as saying.
“I know it’s going to be very difficult, so I’ve had to focus a little more because of that. This has been the perfect start. No nervy moments,” he added.
The 23-year-old will play American Sam Querrey on Monday to bid for a place in the quarterfinals.
Murray further said that Querrey, who captured his fourth career title in the AEGON Championships at Queen’s, will put up a tough fight.
“It will be a tough match, but I’ve played well against him in the past,” he added. (ANI)
