Willie Davis Found Dead In Burbank

cd1California, March 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Willie Davis, the legendary player of Los Angeles Dodgers died on Tuesday at his home in Burbank. The player was 69 years old. According to reports the police have said that they suspect no foul play in the death.

As the news of his death spread on Tuesday the Los Angeles Dodgers team veterans and the deceased player’s well wishers poured out their grief on hearing of the loss. Frank McCourt, the owner of Los Angeles Dodgers said on Tuesday that Willie Davis was one of the most talented players of the club and said that the player was proud to have been a part of the club for such a long period. Frank McCourt reportedly proclaimed that the club will miss his absence. Felipe Alou, the former right fielder of San Francisco Giants remembered Willie Davis as one such player from the Los Angeles Dodgers who was a friend of his. The player also remembered some of the games that they have played against each other and how the performance of Willie Davis always remained the best.

Willie Davis in his 18 years of Major League Baseball game career played for 14 years for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played as a center fielder in the team. In his tenure with the Los Angels Dodgers he has created many team records and still holds six records. During his career as a player he managed to acquire 2,561 hits. At the time of his retirement in the year 1979 he had .279 average and a brilliant 398 stolen bases. As Felipe Alou has proclaimed on Tuesday the center fielder had the capability to terrorize every opponent on the field with his brilliant show.
